Ukraine's official fundraising platform
#Fundraising Case Study2026
UNITED24
The case shows how AMEDIA builds a public product in which trust is a functional requirement: separated accounts, targeted allocation and public reporting are part of the architecture, not a promise added on top.
01 — OVERVIEW
One official place to support Ukraine
UNITED24 is Ukraine's official fundraising platform, launched on 5 May 2022 at the initiative of the President of Ukraine. It enables people and organizations worldwide to donate online and direct funds to specific priorities: defense, humanitarian demining, medical aid, rebuilding, education and science, and sports development.
Purpose of the product
Give a donor in any country a clear official channel: choose a direction, contribute, and see what their donation becomes.
What UNITED24 changes
Instead of scattered initiatives, one public mechanism with separated NBU accounts, weekly reporting and independent audit.
02 — WHO IT'S FOR
Four sides of a single support channel
03 — THE PROBLEM IT SOLVES
The will to help was everywhere — one clear channel was missing
The platform answers three challenges Ukraine faced in 2022:
Fragmented international support
Creates one official point where donors can quickly choose a direction and contribute.
Need for trust and transparency
Combines separate NBU accounts, regular reporting and independent audit.
Need to keep global attention
Turns media campaigns, partnerships and ambassador voices into concrete fundraising and visible results.
04 — KEY FUNCTIONALITY
From donation to outcome
Online donations
Fast giving from any country through digital payment channels.
6 support directions
Donors choose where to direct funds; accounts for the directions are not mixed.
Targeted campaigns
Campaigns with a specific goal, amount and need — independently or together with partners.
Reports and results
Public data on incoming funds, spending and procurement by direction.
Ambassador campaigns
International campaigns with well-known ambassadors: Mark Hamill, Imagine Dragons, Andriy Shevchenko, Scott Kelly, Liev Schreiber.
U24 App — additional channel
A mobile product complements the core platform with separate support mechanics; it is not detailed in this overview.
05 — HOW THE PRODUCT WORKS
The path of a contribution: from direction to report
Six steps every donation goes through — from the donor's card to a published report:
Choose a direction
Defense, Humanitarian Demining, Medical Aid, Rebuild Ukraine, Education and Science, Sports Development or a specific campaign.
Payment
The donation is processed through a connected payment or fundraising channel.
NBU special account
100% of funds raised through UNITED24 are transferred to official National Bank of Ukraine accounts.
Targeted allocation
Funds are transferred to the relevant ministry and can only be used for the selected direction.
Procurement / implementation
The government then directs funds to priority needs: equipment, rebuilding, education, demining and more.
Reporting
UNITED24 updates incoming and spending data weekly; the use of accounts is subject to independent audits.
The NBU is the central financial layer of the platform: donations are promptly received into special official accounts, separated by direction, for their designated use.
06 — STATISTICS AND SCALE
UNITED24 in numbers
* The exact total raised is $3,930,447,754 for the period from 05.05.2022 to 11.09.2026. Donor geography (145 countries) and the share of funds directed to defense (~95%) are per the President of Ukraine as of 21.08.2026; equipment figures come from the by-direction reports as of 28.08.2026.
Examples of recorded results
106 sea drones — per the defense direction report, 28.08.2026
214 special vehicles — per the same defense spending report
9 medical facilities rebuilt, with 2 more rebuilding projects launched
07 — PRODUCT ADVANTAGES
Transparency and trust built into the product
Official public channel
The platform operates as an official mechanism for raising aid for Ukraine, not as a standalone private fund.
Donor control over direction
The donor decides where the contribution goes; funds for different directions are not mixed.
100% to NBU accounts
UNITED24 does not retain a percentage of funds raised through the platform for operating costs.
Weekly reporting
The platform regularly updates reports on incoming funds and spending by direction.
Independent audit
Deloitte audits Defense and Medical Aid; BDO covers the other four current directions.
Global reach
Ambassadors, partners and targeted campaigns combine fundraising with international communication.
08 — TRANSPARENCY IN PRACTICE
The chain from contribution to visible result
Every step of the financial route carries its own control mechanism:
09 — INTEGRATIONS
The payment and public financial framework
The platform connects external payment and fundraising services with the public financial framework:
Donorbox
Donation collection. Donation analytics.
Oschadbank
Payment execution. Payment data.
Ukrgasbank
Payment execution. Payment data.
10 — TECHNOLOGY FOUNDATION
Implementation technologies
Backend
Nest.js.
Frontend
Angular.
Database
MariaDB.
Infrastructure
AWS.
Containers
Docker.
Security
Cloudflare.
Analytics
GA4.
CMS
Custom: Angular + Nest.js.
UNITED24 combines a public fundraising web product, payment integrations, its own CMS, analytics and a public financial framework. The stack supports fast updates of campaigns, content and reporting without making the product more complex for the donor.
11 — PROVEN RESULT
From global support to measurable results
UNITED24 is more than a donation website. It is a digital public mechanism that connects global donors with verified priorities of Ukraine, gives donors a choice of direction, provides a transparent financial route through the NBU and shows outcomes through regular reporting.
More than $3.93B raised across 6 directions and donors from 145 countries show that the platform has become an international channel of support for Ukraine. Reports record thousands of defense units and hundreds of ambulances delivered, along with medical equipment, rebuilding outcomes, education support and humanitarian demining efforts.
